The Green Key
The Green Key in hotel Pesa
In 2008, Hotel Pesa was awarded the international eco-label Roheline Võti.(Green Key)
Following these principles we support the development strategy of Põlvamaa, where an important emphasis has been placed on environmental friendliness, which is expressed in the slogan of the county “Põlvamaa – A greener life”.
We put significant emphasis on being environmentally friendly in our day-to-day activities, and the services and products we offer:
- we use water, heat and electricity economically
- we try to limit the amount of waste we produce and sort everything properly
- we avoid using chemicals that are harmful or dangerous to the environment
- we use nature-friendly materials
- we prefer to use fresh local produce in the restaurant
- we have special “Omakandi toidud” menu in the restaurant, where you will find foods common in and characteristic to the area
- we sell handicrafts made by local craftsmen and -women
- we organise events to contribute to the nature of our county, for example – planting trees
We are very grateful if you, too, help us use natural resources in a more economical way:
- by using water sparingly when showering
- by switching off the lights and the TV when leaving the room
- by using your towel more than once
- by placing domestic waste in the trash can, packages next to the trash can and paper and cardboard waste on the table
- by handing used batteries or other harmful waste to our hotel receptionist
